Unit 43 - 3D Animation

L.O: To be able to examine the purposes and techniques of 3D animation used in the media industry. R/G

3D animation: The creation of a 3D object or person which has its own movement or action, i.e. a player character in a game, or a dynamic item like a light-up sign or a car.

Other examples include things like a simple door swinging open, or leaves swinging on trees in a breeze and other such things.

This is a collection of short films starring Pixar's 3D animated robot, Wall-E, who had his own large movie which was completely animated.

This is a trailer for FInal Fantasy XV, focusing on the large bird known as a Chocobo. This animation ties in with the actual player character, who is able to ride them, as one would ride a horse.

This is an ident for BBC One, where two people are doing the washing up, whilst doing a little dance. This animation emulates human movement really well, though it seems to be a clay animation rather than one digitally designed.

This is a music video which is entirely animated, and rather well. It is clearly digitally created, and has included a lot of small details, such as the hair physics.

This is a compilation of simulations that are 3D animated. They are specifically designed to realistically emulate real life physics.
